Survival Minecraft maps are easily my favorites and Light the Beacon is up their with the best. While not totally original it takes the floating island idea and mold’s it into a awesome and unique minecraft survival island experience. Get your shift button ready miners!

You find yourself on an island, floating amid nothingness. One wrong movement, and you would find yourself following to the depths of the unknown, your life following. Around you, are other islands. It appears other people have been stranded previously, and failed to escape. You must survive. The first step would be to survive, and make your island safe. Then, you must signal for help. Atop a very tall tower, you see a tower with a broken beacon. Maybe you could get inside and activate it from the top. But… as you crane your ears to listen, you hear the most evil noises coming from it.

RULES

Do not cheat.

Do not remove parts of the wall from the tower.

Play on Normal or above difficulty.

GOALS

Light the beacon.

Obtain all of the resources on the map.

Connect to every island.

Help me think of better goals! x3

ABOUT THE MAP

Resources are fairly easy to get to in the beginning, and relatively abundant. However, they are limited. If you lose them, they are lost. There was some debate on how much diamond ore to add, but we decided to add a lot more than we would have normally, given that the diamond ore is situated in easy to lose spots from mining, as well.

The goal of the map is to light the beacon. However, before you can stand a chance against all those mobs, you’d first need to build a stable island with materials to aid you in basic survival (such as food), as well as fighting. That’s what makes this an interesting survival map. There IS an end-goal.

We hope that you enjoy the map, as much as we enjoyed making it. The picture up top is a picture from the spawn island. If you find any bugs, feel free to let us know.
